Continental Currency

One piece of colonial currency that was part of a series issued by the Continental Congress on February 17, 1776 and was printed by Hall and Sellers in Philadelphia. It a $5 note (“Five Spanish Milled Dollars”) and has excellent printer’s devices on both sides. The iron-based handwritten ink has unfortunately faded and the serial number is not visible anymore, but one of the authorizing signatures is still visible (it may be that of Horatio Johnson of Maryland).
